Meet our team

Christine graduated from Otago University with MBChB in 1989 and worked in hospitals in Canterbury and Auckland for 4 years. She gained her postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and her Diploma in Paediatrics from Auckland University.

Christine has been a GP since 1995 and is a Fellow of the NZ College of General Practitioners [FRNZCGP]. She has been at Cairnhill Health Centre since 2006 and is interested in the full scope and diversity of General Practice.

She is married with two daughters and enjoys running and outdoor activities outside of work.

Christine studied medicine at Otago University and joined Cairnhill Health Centre in 2004. She enjoys all aspects of general practice including minor surgery and has a special interest in sexual health, PrEP and menopause.

Married with three children, Christine is a local Mt Eden resident and loves living and working in the Mt Eden/Epsom area. In her spare time Christine does a bit of jogging, but as a passionate baker she admits she enjoys eating and cooking more.

Dongmei was born and educated in China, studying medicine at Harbin University, China.

After her medical degree she completed specialist paediatric training and worked as a paediatrician in China. In 1996 she emigrated to New Zealand with her husband and daughter. She started working in general practice in 2003 and joined Cairnhill in 2006.

Dongmei enjoys general practice and has a special interest in children’s and women’s health.

She is fluent in Mandarin and English.

With her daughter now an adult she has more spend more time to enjoy yoga and travel.

While Louise is a recent arrival at Cairnhill, she has practised in Epsom for 28 years.

She enjoys general practice for the personal and long-term relationships she develops with people. Over the years Louise has been involved with obstetrics, geriatric medicine, and all that occurs in between.

Louise has mixed general practice with bringing up two (now adult) children. She and her husband now lavish attention on their schnauzer, Fred. Louise in her down time can be found in her garden, cooking in the kitchen or singing in a local choir.

Xing graduated from Shanghai Medical University in 1993 and worked as an ophthalmologist at Hua Shan Hospital in Shanghai. He immigrated to New Zealand in 1997 and after exploring other career options, his passion for medicine drew him back to the health sector. After time at Whanganui Hospital, Xing moved to Auckland to practise as a GP.

Xing enjoys building patient relationships and has a special interest in eye care, mental health, and minor surgery.

Xing is married with three children. His interest in healthcare is in the blood, with two of his sons following him into healthcare. In his spare time he enjoys travel, badminton, running and skiing.

Xing is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Steven is a born and breed Aucklander. He completed his medical training at the University of Auckland before working at Middlemore and North Shore Hospitals.

He transitioned to general practice after being drawn to the clinical breadth that primary care offers. He enjoys the patient contact of general practice and has a special interest in men’s health, HIV management and prevention, older people’s health, and palliative care.

Outside of medicine, Steven plays guitar/piano and tries, with limited success, to keep up with the instructor at the local group fitness classes.
