Covid19 Vaccine Update

Everyone in New Zealand aged 5 and over is eligible for free COVID-19 vaccination, regardless of your visa or citizenship status.

Boosters are available free for anyone in New Zealand aged 16 or older who has completed their two dose course more than four months ago.

Second boosters

Second Boosters are available a minimum of 6 months after a first booster. They are available for:

• all people aged over 50 years

• health, aged care and disability workers

A second booster is recommended for those at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19.

If you’ve recently had COVID-19

It’s recommended you wait 3 months after testing positive for COVID-19, before getting any COVID-19 vaccination. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine sooner than 3 months might reduce your immune response to the vaccine.
